Mr. Jamie Jerell Holt

March 12, 1969 - April 7, 2022

Jamie Jerell Holt "Jrock" was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 12, 1969 Jamie was the child of Jettie B. Holt and Robert Lee Holt Sr (who preceded him in death). Music was naturally embedded in Jamie's DNA. He spent countless hours immersed in recording songs off the radio as a child. He was known to carry a boom box on his shoulder playing the latest hits from house music to R&B, as he walked through his community. Jamie was eager to DJ at his family gatherings and reunions. He was a big Jordan fan. Jamie attended Suder Elementary School and Cregier High School where he obtained academic achievements. He attended Catherine Travel College in which he obtained a degree in the travel industry. Jamie worked for 20 years as a mail clerk at Micro Dynamics. Jamie was blessed with a large and loving family. He helped raise his Doodabug (Lyric) with love, patience, and humility. He taught her to read, write, ride a bike, and trying her first pair of shoes. Jamie had the pleasure of escorting his Doodabug to her first daughter daddy school dance. Jamie departed this life on Thursday April 7, 2022. Jamie was preceded in death by both of his maternal and paternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his loving and caring mother Jettie B. Holt, three brothers Michael Lee Holt, Robert Lee Holt, and Willie Q. Holt, five sisters Sharon S. Holt, Inger G. Brister (Tony), Lasandra Holt (Jerry), Molanda U. Johnson, and Yolanda S. Harrington; a dear and special friend Willie Embrey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
