Mr. Terrance Merritte Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Terrance Demetrius Merritte was born into the world on September 16, 1971 to Gloria and Sammy Miller. His father preceded him in death. Terrance was born and raised on the westside of Chicago and he was the eldest of seven children. Terrance graduated from Carl Schurz high school and later attended Washburne Trade School where he obtained a certificate in Electrical Maintenance Mechanics. With this skill set Terrance held several positions with the most recent being a Maintenance Mechanic at SG360. While attending Schurz Terrance met Lakesha, his high school sweetheart. Terrance and Lakesha married October 19, 1996. From his union, two beautiful children were born, son Deveon (D.J.) and daughter Deja. Terrance loved music and being around family and friends. If you knew anything about Terrance, you know he loved to reminisce about the past and loved to crack jokes with people for hours, In his spare time, he loved to watch animal shows and anything dealing with sports or history. He also loved to travel with his wife and children, where he wouldn't shy away from talking to other travelers. Terrance was preceded in death by his grandparents: Willie Mae Winters and John Henry Miller, Fannie and Clarence Merritte and brother Samuel Miller. Terrance departed this life on Tuesday April 19, 2022. Terrance leaves to cherish his everlasting memories, his loving wife/best friend Lakesha Merritte, son Deveon (D.J.), daughter Deja, mother Gloria Miller, four sisters, Yolanda Miller (Helen), Samantha Harvey (Marc), Sabrina Miller, Jaleesa Survillion (Demetrius, one brother Diandre Drink (Tamika) and his mother and father in law, Willie and Carolyn Collins, who he lovingly referred to as Mr. C and Ma Collins. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
