Celebrating the Life of Sam Falco On June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, Sam Falco passed away in Brooksville, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, laughter, and devotion to those he loved most. He was 73 years old. Born on July 10, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Sam grew up in Melrose Park alongside his parents and three siblings. He attended Mount Carmel Grade School and later graduated from Proviso East High School. From an early age, he possessed a competitive spirit and a passion for sports, especially hockey. As a young man, he pursued that passion wholeheartedly, even living in Canada while playing the sport he loved. Although an injury ultimately ended his hockey career, it never diminished his determination or zest for life. Throughout his life, Sam embraced new opportunities and built a remarkable career. He worked at The Chicago Stadium and the US Department of Agriculture before finding his true professional calling in the automotive industry. Over the course of fifty years, he became a respected figure in automotive sales and marketing. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own marketing company, where he traveled around the country conducting Super Sale events and creating successful marketing campaigns for automobile dealerships. His work ethic, charisma, and ability to connect with people earned him countless friendships and professional relationships. While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, nothing brought him greater joy than his family. For 40 years, he shared a loving partnership with his devoted wife, Sherry, building a life filled with memories, laughter, and unwavering support. Together they raised three children, whom he loved deeply and supported wholeheartedly. Whether offering advice, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, he cherished every moment spent with his family. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, and making memories with those he loved. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered. His outgoing personality, quick wit, and generous heart made him a friend to many and a beloved presence wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Eda (Pennacchio), mother-in-law and father-in-law Rita (Matusiak) and John Michalak. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl; his daughter, Deana, and son-in-law, Moe LaPlatney; his son, Sam and daughter-in-law, Jackie; his daughter, Sara; his brother, Joe (Chris); his sisters, Gail (Mike) Dioguardi, and Nancy (Mike) Gatto; sister-in-law Lyn (late Thomas) Rubalcave, brother-in-law John (Janine) Michalak, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His life was one filled with purpose, adventure, and love, and his memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, lessons taught, and lives touched by his remarkable journey. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 31 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Carbonara Funeral Home 1515 N. 25th Ave. Melrose Park, IL 60160. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a well-lived life.
