Mr Zachary Tyler Wollenschlager

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Zachary Tyler Wollenschlager on September 1, 2024. Born on June 14, 1996, Zachary lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and love for those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him. Loving son of Anna (nee Coglianese) and Eric Wollenschlager; Fond brother to Justin, Rachel and Cameron. Cherished nephew of Cynthia Ann Wollenschlager M.D., the late Robert Coglianese, and Peter Coglianese (Connie). Devoted Grandson of the late Ronnie and the late Rita Wollenschlager, the late Vincent Coglianese and the late Barbara Coglianese. Loving cousin to Michael, Natalie, Arianna, Anthony, and Alexa. Zachary was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, where he was a proud member of the school’s hockey and wrestling team and was known for his dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship in competition and beyond. After high school, Zachary continued his education at Eastern Illinois University, where he continued to make lifelong friends and memories. Zachary became a proud and skilled carpenter, part of Local Union 13, a profession that perfectly suited his resilient spirit and unwavering work ethic. His hands built the very structures that make up our world, and his work will stand as a testament to his dedication for generations to come. But above all, Zachary will be remembered for his hard work and the incredible heart he brought to everything he did. Whether he was at work, on the ice, or spending time with loved ones, he gave his all and made those around him feel valued and cared for. His tenacity, kindness, and loyalty were unmatched, and these qualities touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Zachary’s life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, laughter, and joy. His bright spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be forever missed. Visitation will take place at Carbonara Funeral Home in Melrose Park on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Saturday, September 14, 2024, final viewing from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM followed by the celebration of Zachary’s life held at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Melrose Park. Zachary’s ashes will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
